Gifts From the Heart Provide Wonderful Start to Life for Babies
The miracle of birth is an amazing and life-changing event. UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge considers it a privilege to care for families and wants everyone to feel safe, comfortable and well cared for. We want you to have the best experience possible, an experience that is intimate, comfortable and family-centered.
Trinity Foundation has partnered with UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge to ensure that this cornerstone service line provides each family with an extraordinary experience while receiving the highest level of care. Trinity Foundation is there with you beginning with the first moment you lay eyes on your baby.
Trinity Foundation purchased two ultrasound machines for the UnityPoint OB/GYN Clinic. These new machines provide our patients with a clear first look and confirmation of fetal heartbeat, position and first photos. Speaking of first photos, Trinity Foundation has provided funding for the purchase of hardcover keepsake books that will chronicle the development of children birth to age 18 and serve as a beautiful keepsake to pass to the next generation.
We know becoming a parent is a major commitment filled with challenges, rewards and choices. When you choose UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge, we want you to be confident in the care provided.
Trinity Foundation has provided funding for the following items in the Trinity Birth Center:
- Patient room refrigerators. Adding refrigerators allows patients to bring their favorite drinks or snacks and keep them refrigerated as needed.
- Electronic fetal monitors. These monitors provide wireless fetal and contraction monitoring, allowing the patient to move about as desired while laboring.
- New labor and delivery beds. We know comfort is everything. These new beds are more comfortable and easier to adjust during labor.
- Portable electronic fetal monitor for the operating room. This monitor will increase quality of care, emotional reassurance and will provide staff with more accurate information at a faster rate to ensure appropriate monitoring of babies in utero while preparing for a C-section.
- New sofa beds for patient rooms. We’ve made some upgrades because we know it’s important to keep birthing partners comfortable too.
Once you have your baby in your arms, we also know that parents want every visit to the pediatrician to be seamless. Trinity Foundation has provided funding for pediatric infant exam tables with infant scales and infantometers for UnityPoint Clinic – Pediatrics. Infantometers are the most effective way to measure an infant’s length and allows for infants to be weighed and measured in the same place.
Being a part of your maternity experience and baby’s birth is an honor and privilege. Trinity Foundation has been providing support to UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge since 1983. With your support, we plan to be around for generations to come.
